Significance by Shelly Crane (Significance series #1) (ARC)

Significance (Significance, #1)Significance by Shelly Crane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is brilliant!

At first, I had my doubts since the beginning is a bit slow and it felt like your average teenage drama. But, as soon as the supernatural is introduced the story picks up and everything is way more exciting. The plot is actually quite intense and the whole villan family thing really puts a twist on things. I really also like that sex is constantly talked about, I mean the main characters are teenagers, but sex is not the driving point in the story and it is actually common for Aces to wait until marriage to have sex. This gives a very refreshing air to this book.
The characters are also great. Maggie, of course, as the main female lead is who we learn the most about and I quire like her. I also really like Caleb, but the other characters like Kyle, although he is suppose to be one of the good guys, I don’t like that much at all. He is just an asshole really. I like how Maggie’s dad grows within the story although he still isn’t a super dad by any means.
All in all, this is a great book and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

About the book

THE CHILD FATED TO SHAPE DESTINIES …

Morgan is a little girl who lives in Tintagel Castle by the sea, loved and sheltered by her noble parents, the Duke and Duchess of Belerion. An extraordinarily clever child, extremely sharp-eyed, exceptionally curious. A little girl unlike other children.

Morgan’s visions of another world awaken her to the realisation that she can see things others cannot. That she has powers other people do not possess.

Not long afterwards, Morgan encounters Diana, the Moon Huntress, who charges her with a dangerous mission that only she can accomplish. With Merlin by her side and unsure if he is friend or foe, Morgan must venture far from home to enter the realms of the Piskies and the Muryans, warring tribes of faeries who vie for the souls of lost children. Morgan Le Fay: Small Things and Great (Fata Morgana Book I)Morgan Le Fay: Small Things and Great by Jo-Anne Blanco

BOOK TOUR REVIEW

The world of Morgan Le Fay is certainly very interesting. There is a lot going on constantly. There are supernatural beings and death and mysterious visions. And Morgan is only 5 years old.
I quite like this book. It kept me intrigued throughout the book although at the beginning I was a bit worried that I would not enjoy the book. But it definitely gets better the further along you get.
The plot is truly interesting and I like the world they live in. It is a bit like the world of the Lord of the Rings or the world the movie Merlin.
I also quite like the characters, but it is really hard to remember that the main character, Morgan is only 5 years old and all her friends are somewhere near there. Morgan also acts really maturely and it really kinda throws you off at times.
For me, it’s hard to imagine this a children’s book, because the events in the book are quite dark and although the main characters are children, I still don’t see this as a children’s book. Also, the language used in this book is very mature and I would imagine a lot of children would find in it difficult.
All in all, I really enjoyed the book and I cannot wait to read the other books in the series.

Adventurous me by Deanndra Hall (Audiobook)

Adventurous Me (Me, You, and Us, #1)Adventurous Me by Deanndra Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Trish is devastated when her husband of almost 30 years dumbs her for being boring. She meets a mysterious man in a bar and when he invites her to a different kind of club she agrees and that is when she starts to truly discover herself.
I know the description is a bit boring, but the book itself is great.
I really enjoyed this book. I love how Trish is introduced to the life of BDSM. It’s so through compared to a lot of other BDSM books I’ve read. I also like that it’s not just focused on a BDSM club but rather it focuses on the relationship between Trish and Clint. I always love reading about characters relationship development.
The one thing that wasn’t really for me, was the fact that Trish is quite a bit of older than Clint and that for me is not pleasant. It doesn’t make the worse or anything, I’m just young still and it’s hard for me to put myself in her place on that aspect of the story.
The characters are great, although, I kind of wished that Trish would settle down with another character, but towards the end Clint changes for the better.
This is also a quick book to listen and I actually listened it in a day.
I didn’t really enjoy the narrator. Her voice for some reason just isn’t for me, but it got better toward the end as well.

All in all, a great book and a brilliant start of a series

Calypso’s heart by M.C. Solaris

Calypso's Heart (Orion's Order #1)Calypso’s Heart by M.C. Solaris
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Calypso lives in LA with her cat and leads a completely normal life. Well, she dreams of two handsome guys but other than that she is very ordinary girl. But then she gets kidnapped by a guy she is more or less dating and who is far from human.

I LOVED this book. I enjoyed every word I read. This book and this series is far from a typical paranormal romance book and I think that is the reason it’s so great.
The characters are amazing. They are all interesting, and complex and I simply love that they are a small pack with strong bonds and even the supporting characters get their backstories and their time in the spotlight so to speak.
Blake and Caly has to be my favorite paranormal couple. Their relationship is great and I like that the story doesn’t completely revolve around their relationship, the plot is much more complex and has a lot more depth.
The plot, as mentioned, is interesting and there’s a lot of good type of suspense within this book. The relationships between the characters make the plot a lot better and it gives it another layer of context.
The fact, that this book doesn’t have just shifters or vampires puts the book in a category on its own and it makes the whole story a lot more interesting. I love that there are elementals and all kinds of creatures in this book and I hope to read all the books in the series soon.

All in all, I loved every bit of this book and I recommend this to anyone who likes paranormal romance and happy endings because reading this book was truly a refreshing experience.

Crowns of Croswald by D.E. Night

The Crowns of Croswald (The Croswald Series, #1)The Crowns of Croswald by D.E. Night
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A story of a scaldrony maid becoming a magical being. Magic, magical school, royals and scrivenists. A darks queen. That is what a good fantasy novel is made of.

The Crowns of Croswald is interesting, full of action, mystery and magic. It’s full of interesting characters and creatures. It has a deep and complex story plot and I loved reading it and following Ivy on her journey.
I’ve in my opinion is a very interesting character and it was very easy for me to keep up with her and wanting to know how her story will proceed. The supporting characters are all so very different and they fit the story well.
The mysteries that the book is full of, keep the story going and your mind hooked until the end and beyond. I like how there are so many things and characters you have to wait to get to know and how that makes the story a page-turner as you simply have to keep on reading to get to the bottom of all the mysteries.

The only negative thing about the book is that sometimes things get a bit confusing. Things are not always very well described and especially in the beginning it was a bit hard for me to understand all the different bits of the story.

All in all, this is a great book and a great series and I cannot wait to keep on following Ivy on her journey.

Double entendre by Mistress Black Rose

Double Entendre (Lesbians in Leather, #1)Double Entendre by Mistress Black Rose
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

General info

Quinn is career woman working hard towards a big promotion. She has sacrificed relationships and everything else in her life for her career. Now, she is closing on death if she cannot lower her stress levels. When a friend of hers suggests she sets up an appointment with mistress Jade, a BDSM domme, she could not believe that that would be her thing.
When things start to develop between a coworker and her sessions with mistress Jade are literally saving her life Quinn has to choose between love and her career.

I mostly enjoyed reading this book. The beginning was great and interesting. I like how the sessions started and how the sessions help Quinn deal with stress and start enjoying life again.
I especially like Estelle as a character. She confident and a woman who knows what she wants. She is more interesting to me than Quinn.
Also, the relationship that is blooming between Estelle and Quinn is great to follow. They get along so well and they clearly care about each other, it’s great to see how they fall for each other.
Also the ending is great in the book. You kind of expect the ending, but there’s no certainty that it will happen. I like that about the ending.

Although I like this book and I enjoyed reading it, there are some parts I did not like. Some of the sex scenes are a bit too urgh for me. Some of the wordings and descriptions just did not sit well with me for some reason. That is only my opinion though. It could be that I am not into females so it’s completely new world to me. Also, I think I have never read a female domme BDSM story before so that’s new too.

All in all, this is an interesting book with a good plot and very interesting and hot BDSM scenes. The sex scenes are not to my taste, but that’s just my taste. Altogether, an enjoyable read.

Could be something good by Fiona West

Could Be Something Good (Timber Falls #1)Could Be Something Good by Fiona West
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

General info

Daniel is intrigued by Winnie the first time he sees her. Winnie isn’t interested at first. She has a bad break up behind her and her mothers stupid expectations constantly upon her. Additionally, Daniel is a little younger than she is. It could not end up in anything good, right?

Things I liked

Once again, Fiona West does it. This is a light, joyful read even though it deals with some everyday issues, for example how dyslexia is treated in life. The characters are complex and interesting. They all have their own issues, but they also come through strongly and happier.

Conclusion

There is nothing I did not like in this book. It is a great, quick and joyful read and I can’t wait to travel back to Timber Falls and read the next story in the series.

Light, Camera, Murder by Nikki Haverstock

Lights, Camera, Murder (Reality TV Cozy Mysteries, #1)Lights, Camera, Murder by Nikki Haverstock
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

General info

Aspiring other Melissa gets asked to take part in a reality show after one of the original cast members has been kicked out of the show. Things don’t quite go as planned, and when she is accused of murder things really take a turn for the worse.

Things I liked

This was a quick and light read but there is still a bit of a mystery and some suspense. Melissa also goes through a lot and some important issues are discussed in the book. I like that this book also reminded me that it is important to do things you are passionate about in your life. Don’t try to be something you are not.
The supporting characters are also interesting and I especially like Ryan a lot.

I don’t think there is much negative to say about this book but my state of mind at the beginning might have affected my early experience with the book and the fact that I found the book to have a bit of a slow start.

Strays by Eliza Marsh

Strays (Red Kings MC, #1)Strays by Eliza Marsh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jackie and Tyler are best friends who have been through more than most. When Tyler gets invited into the Red Kings MC, Jackie obviously follows and falls in love with the Vice President of the club.

I loved this book so much. I’m generally a fan of motorcycle club romances but this one is really nice and in a way it stands out. There isn’t too much violence and it really focuses on the relationship between Dean and Jackie. There are some complicated things they face and this makes the book more interesting in my opinion. The supporting characters are also great and I would love to read their stories in the future as well.
The book ends in the most juicy cliffhanger so I really cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Kiss and Consume by Lynelle Barrett

Kiss and ConsumeKiss and Consume by Lynelle Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Info

Abigail’s parents are executed as vampires and she flees to the house of a local teacher. He is kind and he believes that she is innocent. A romance starts to build, but things are not quite as they seem and tragedy strikes.

Review

The book is a great read and there is twists and turns and nothing is ever certain. The unknowns causes people to be gruel and thirst for blood and that leads to a lot of unhappiness. I like the relationship between Abigail and Levi. It’s full of love and trust and childlike learning.
The plot goes up and down and I feel like it had more potential than what it delivered. It is a good book, but I feel like it could have been more. Also, there are certain aspects of the plot that are a little bit hard to follow, like the case of the doctor’s hatred and his past life with Elisabeth.
It is important to remember that this is a first in series so, of course, there has to be something left to the next books in the series.
All in all, I like this book, but there are parts that I did not like so much hence the four stars. I definitely want to read the next book in the series.
